The Q1 snapshot of the South African real estate market provides a topline overview of shifts in the office, industrial, retail and hospitality sectors from 2021 to the first quarter in 2022. Covering all major South African cities the report highlights a prevailing sense of caution that continues throughout all sectors due to subdued economic growth and high inflation dampening recovery to pre-pandemic rates. Positive growth indicators are emerging in developments that have incorporated ESG principles and have been responsive to the changing requirements in the market including flexibility on terms.
