JLL was tasked to sell a hotel situated on 8 hectares of land with a development opportunities.

The greatest challenge was finding a suitable buyer for this kind of property as the hotel had a 5 year lease and additional 4 hectares of land that presented residential and retail development opportunities. The buyer had to understand hotels, the value of the 5 year lease, and recognise the development opportunity for the 4 hectares of land.

In addition, as this was a general mandate and the property was already under offer, we had to find a fitting buyer as quickly as possible, and ensure that the price was satisfactory to the seller.

Results

After approaching two potential buyers who were both private hotel investors and developers, one of the buyers showed interest in this unique opportunity and purchased the property.

We packaged and closed this deal with two-weeks, exceeding both buyer and seller’s expectations.
